About Becca

Art is my self care, my hobby and my passion. Art helps me grieve, helps me share my heart and my joy with others. Art helps me express my faith in our Creator and find ways to feel successful, even when pain levels are high and energy is low.

Art is so important to me. It’s about the process, not the final product. I love painting & its the first thing I think of doing when my fibromyalgia symptoms overwhelm me.

I am so thankful that God gave me these talents, and a way to share them & encourage others. 💗

My journey

I have had a long love of nature, growing up in Northwestern Ontario, Canada where I had the opportunity to study native plants in the boreal forest. After completing a B.Sc in Plant Biology at the University of Guelph and a B.Ed in French at Lakehead University, I moved my easel to the Canadian prairies.

I now live in Coogee, Western Australia on a big beautiful property with a chihuahua, 7 canaries, a cockatiel & budgie, monarch butterflies, bees & chooks - quite the menagerie!

Artwork with affirmations. Images of Koalas and Birds, with text overlay that reads "I really enjoy the present. Every moment today is special and I choose to celebrate it. I bless my home with love in every corner.

Although most of my artwork is completed in watercolour, I also create custom works in acrylics, pencil, charcoal and pastels.

My work has been featured many times at the Fine Art Gallery in Centre East Mall in Saskatoon. In 2006, I won first prize in the “Splash of Colour” Exhibit at the Saskatoon Exhibition. In the Fall of 2011, I sold work in the Saskatchewan Wildlife Artist Association’s annual show.

In both 2012 & 2013, I donated art to the C3 Beachway’s Annual Fundraiser in Perth, Australia and I was thrilled to have all the pieces sold to raise money for overseas work in India. I have also shared my love of painting by volunteering in Senior Citizen’s residences.

In 2014, I had my first online auction with all proceeds going towards Batten Disease, a disease that has touched my family in Canada.

Over the years, I have improved my talents with art classes through the University of Saskatchewan Art & Design Certificate Program; online through both Pennsylvania State University and with American artist Kelly Rae Roberts; and drawing classes at community art studios in Australia.

I have attended watercolour and acrylic workshops with various Australian artists including Malini Parker, and I have three paintings in an exhibit held at the Karen Frankel Galleria Art Studio in July 2013.

In 2017 I started teaching watercolours, drawing and “Art Tasters” classes as well as teaching workshops on Acrylic Painting, Calligraphy & Fun Fonts, Seniors’ workshops and Children’s School Holiday workshops at the Mug’n Brush Studio, Rockingham WA.

My artwork hangs in the Ronald McDonald House in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and in private collections across Canada, the United States and Australia.
